Untitled Flowers

About the artwork
This photo has a hint of the cover of the New Wave band New Order’s record “Power, Corruption & Lies,” which itself is a photo of a still life by the French artist Henri Fantin-Latour. There’s a melancholy and realness about the flowers—a sense of empathy and genuine affection. These were flowers I never wanted to throw away, which is why I felt the need to immortalize them on film.
