About Sascha Pohflepp & Chris Woebken

Watch video

Sascha and Chris bring the past and present together

“Our influences range from public archive materials that we dig up, all the way to videos of 3-D simulation amateurs on YouTube.”

Much of Sascha Pohflepp and Chris Woebken’s collaboration investigates how historical and modern society see the future, and the way these predictions will affect sectors like finance and climate science. Their recent pieces, for example, are informed by images found from archival sources. Pohflepp and Woebken use computer simulation modelling as their medium, with site-specific installations created in virtual format. The artist duo have created “Leibniz Cocktail Conjecture” for Absolut Art. The submission is part of a larger piece that virtually reconstructs a West Hollywood modernist home, where a group of thinkers associated with the RAND Corporation used to meet in the mid-1950s.
