About Przemek Pyszczek
Przemek goes back to the roots of his birthplace
“I'm interested in objects and places that may be banal, but tell an important story.”
Exploring the intersection of collective and personal histories, Przemek Pyszczek creates sculptures, paintings and installations. His works in recent years have been heavily informed by his Polish roots, one which sees him analysing the architectural landscape of post-communist Poland. Despite the strong connection to his birth place, Pyszczek prefers to live in Berlin, which is close to Poland but gives him the ability to reflect and work with an objective distance. Through his research and travel through Poland, Pyszczek has found a variety of graphics that have been applied to building facades in the country. The screen prints of these graphics act as capsule of time and place in Polish history.
