I examine and experiment with life as part of my artistic practise and search for knowledge.
My work witnesses the eternal return of the real in which bodies are murdered, cannibalised, shaped, altered and manipulated in a seemingly unstoppable process.
Our work for Absolut Art links the manufactured authenticity of pre-packaged travel experiences with the hallucinatory escape of a drug user.
I think of my practise as painting in an expansive sense, which involves a deep relationship between architecture, the object and the body of the viewer.
My collages for Absolut Art are connected to a series of works that I completed previously. They relate to postmodern dance, music and the discourse of body politics.
My series of paper cut-outs can be seen as an attempt to build bridges between art and architecture.
My ultimate goal is to reveal the reasoning structure of my own consciousness, and identify my own implicit associations and assumptions.
The subjects of my imagery are less significant than my wish to prompt a deeper sense of reflection, a grasp of the intangible, or a glimpse of the other.
Creating tension between space and objects is crucial to my practise, as I hope to show the close relationship between material and immaterial realities.
I think of my work for Absolut Art as a type of 21st century pop art– one where there’s nothing in the windows and the shops are all closed.
My approach is not a constructive one, but rather a responsive one. I react to the world around me.
Art is an integral part of one's life and should be used like a tool. The better you can use it, the better the art.
