About the artwork
‘Fresh Cuts’ is a series inspired by traditional Rwandan hair styles in conversation with barbershop portraits in mostly black American neighborhoods. I am interested in the intersection of African and African American cultures as well as materials such as posters, advertisements and other vernacular display materials that are ubiquitous but often invisible.
Each edition comes stamped with Wu-Tang logo emboss.
