About the artwork

I aim to create my own reality in painting and illustration, complete with a critique of the ideologies of the world today. While working in a neo-Pop vein, I also work in a personal style that I call ‘cartoon manipulation.’

Disenchanted by the ways pop culture was slowly brainwashing the masses, I took to painting as an act of defiance, beginning with spray-paint. Like Microsoft Paint merged with the mind of a comic book fiend, the work is an expanding bubblegum shot of the destruction of a trippy suburban dream. While incorporating the influence of painters from the past century, I have worked to develop a unique painting style and a new approach to the art market.

From paneled comic strip–style illustrations to abstract interiors that rethink modern living, my style manages to be dramatically varied but immediately recognizable. My use of flattened colors and clean black outlines makes each character I paint familiar yet captivating.

As you can see from this particular work, Wu-Tang Clan remains a huge inspiration for me, as they have since I was a kid, with the trademark W presiding over everything. Touching on the dark side of their message, a subway marked ‘C.R.E.A.M.’ is barrelling through, and the people in this world ruled by money look none too happy.

Each edition comes stamped with Wu-Tang logo emboss.
