About the artwork

This was taken on a summer day at 70th Street and Broadway, in New York. It’s a quintessential New York moment; I can’t imagine another place where one dog walker would serve so many well-behaved dogs. For a second it might even look surreal. I consider this image part of a conversation about New York dogs that has been championed by photographer Elliott Erwitt, among others.
