Blue Curtain (Nyhamnsläge)
About the artwork
Shadows might be my main theme; they’ve always fascinated me, with the intimate quality of something actually standing in the way of light. I’m a writer as well as an artist, and in a sense, I think shadows counterbalance my take on words. Words can be so precise, but shadows are always moving, disappearing, their shapes shifting.Though they consist of nothing, I think of them as very sensual and tactile.
In BLUE CURTAIN (Nyhamnsläge), I wanted to capture that moment between dream and morning. It’s a private zone, an atmosphere of expectations. But drawing that curtain might reveal something ambiguous and complex. This is the moment before reality strikes.
