About the artwork
My works The Drifting Starfish, a series of three, are inspired by a Central American myth about the creation of the sea. These works, with a color scheme of blue, green and gold, were included in “The Pirate’s Gold,” an exhibition I had in Sweden in 2015. The psychoanalyst Carl Gustav Jung, described the sea as “the favourite symbol for the unconscious, the mother of all that lives.” The mash-up of imagery in these prints is something like the various ideas and emotions that can co-exist under the surface of the mind.
