About Andreas Greiner
Andreas depicts subjects from all walks of life
“I examine and experiment with life as part of my artistic practise and search for knowledge.”
With a background in medicine, anatomy and figurative sculpture, it comes as no surprise that Greiner creates work with a strong connection to the natural sciences. But rather than focus on grand subjects, many of Greiner’s pieces focus on conventionally overlooked life forms, such as bacteria, algae, flies, and even chicken bones. The aim is to give importance to the humdrum, and help viewers discover beauty where it is least expected. Continuing with this theme, Greiner’s three photographs for Absolut Art revolves around house flies, chicken meat and bioluminescent algae. The series brings to light not only the relationship between humans and these subjects, but also the co-creation connection between Greiner and these life forms.
