About Rex Koo

Bold simplicity, recognizable beyond doubt
“I want people to identify him without looking at the title"
A guest designer for the likes of Nike and Giordano, Rex Koo is a prolific Hong Kong based graphic designer and artist. As part of his Simple People series, his Kung Fu illustrations capture the movement and posture of the legendary Bruce Lee using geometry shapes.
Creating portraits within a confined grid, Rex creatively highlights just enough identifying features of his subjects that they’re unmistakable to the eye. The result is a memorable impression; bold and succinct. Vector graphics aside, Rex is also known for the moments he relinquishes the computer to draw by hand. It’s here that he works to bring the human touch back to graphic design. It’s hardly a stretch to recognize why Rex has become a sought after talent in the commercial graphic design world.
