Eva distorts perspective

“When people see my art, I want them to feel happiness”

Eva Kerek has an imagery of her own. In her world, we encounter everyday objects, but not as we usually see them. Her flat, two dimensional paintings are often shown from above, but the people and the furniture might be seen from the side. She shifts and distorts the image to give us a different take on the everyday. To make it more beautiful. She is obsessed by houses of the 50s and 60s and you’ll often find recurring figures and objects in her work. If you stumble across Eva and her studio, you’ll probably find her listening to her favourite radio station, the Swedish P1.
