Brand Matters – Eau de frozen flowers I (L)
About the artwork
Coco Chanel’s iconic No. 5 perfume bottle causes a nearly Pavlovian response in perfume enthusiasts—it’s as recognizable as the Mona Lisa. Clara Hallencreutz’s Brand Matters – Eau de frozen flowers strips away the logo but retains the sculptural shape of the bottle, which made waves when it was introduced in 1921. Inside the bottle and all around it float fragrant flora and delicate greenery, suggesting natural origins for popular perfumes. You can nearly smell the beautiful flowers.
