About the artwork
In my work I focus on the functionality of the body in our everyday life in contrast to the context of dance. I try to disconnect movements from functions so I can investigate them further. Separated from its function, a movement that you usually perform with a goal becomes rather ridiculous, alienated, or slapstick. For Interns 1 and Interns 2 I used photographs from an old magazine to create collages. I wanted these men in suits to become two-dimensional sculptures that hover in a roundelay of joy.
