About the artwork
Position K shows a partially abstract distillation of a woman posing on her hands and knees. The shapes of her body are represented by floating shapes and graceful lines, echoing modern artists like Paul Klee, Joan Miró, and Wassily Kandinsky. Her hair, fancifully abundant, extends to the bottom of the frame, then travels across it and up the left side. The brown, yellow, and blue abstract shapes offset the hues of the setting, which is largely left to the viewer’s imagination—which will surely be sparked by this graceful and enticing scene.
