About the artwork
I recently moved to Drzeniów, a small Polish village which sits close to the German border, just southeast of Berlin. This print references new relief works presented at NADA, and is a continued exploration of found forms and materials that surround me in my new environment, further adding to the broad abstract landscape I am creating, which depicts the rural and urban collective imagination of post-Communist Poland. Referencing human-made objects such as fences and gates that dot the countryside, I am flattening these architectural elements and rendering them in the colors and materials that are prevalent throughout my new rural home.
