In this piece, it seemed to me as if there was a lot going on, like a feeling of food overflowing, like when someone describes an incredible meal, so I called it Lashings. The shape at the upper right has something of the cornucopia, and there’s the feeling that the harvest is in; the larder’s full. It’s about food security. There’s the battle to get to a moment where you have enough to eat and how good that feeling is. In our modern world, many of us have divorced ourselves from that worry. The way the world is so fractious and unstable at the moment, maybe that struggle could come back into our very comfortable lives.
