As a freelance curator, Nadim Samman runs a non-commercial project space in Berlin. International and intellectual in approach, Samman was most recently the curator at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary (TBA21) in Vienna. He previously studied Philosophy at the University College London, before completing a PhD at the Courtauld Institute of Art. In 2012 he curated the 4th Marrakech Biennale with Carson Chan, and in 2014 established The Antarctic Pavilion at the 14th Venice Biennale of Architecture.

Yves examines the ruthlessness of celebrity culture

Born in 1987 in Switzerland, Yves Scherer attempts to question the influence of media, commercialisation and alienation of sexual and social identity. With an MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in London, he made his debut at Berlin's Galerie Guido W. Baudach. That first show was called “Closer”, and unveiled the naked vulnerabilities of celebrities to the general public. Yet rather that portray the tragedy of fame, Scherer illustrates that fame is a double-edged sword of both good and bad. For Absolut Art, Scherer has submitted a series of self-portraits showing varying levels of undress. They relate to Scherer’s sources of inspiration, which includes pop music, celebrity culture and fashion, and highlights potent ideas surrounding identity, privacy, sexuality and media.
