About Bobbi Woods
Bobbi’s art practise is packed with pop culture
“As Picabia once remarked, ‘I am a beautiful monster.’”
Conceptual artist Bobbi Woods graduated with a BA and MFA from the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena, California, in 2004 and 2008. Her work is intimately tied to ideas surrounding pop culture. One of Woods' project in 2009, for example, revolves around spray-painting a series of movie posters. By altering the original works, Woods hopes to highlight the subtexts of sexuality that pervade modern society. Woods’ work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently at Pepin Moore, Loudhailer Gallery, Night Gallery and Fourteen30 Contemporary. Her submission for Absolut Art is entitled “Pearl Necklace”, and marries satire into the language of luxury.
