At a time when many of us are hunkered down at home for the sake of public health, artists are finding material for study and reflection in the landscapes around their homes, and if they’re lucky enough to venture outside, in the natural world that surrounds them.
Absolut Art is excited to offer you a new series of photographs from celebrated French photographer Brigitte Lacombe. For four decades Lacombe has created iconic and intimate photographs of many of the world’s most revered artists, actors, politicians and intellectuals.
If you’ve leafed through magazines like Vanity Fair, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, or The New Yorker, you may have seen photographs by Lacombe, who has published two books of her work and won numerous accolades. She has exhibited her work internationally, including at the Qatar Museums, Sotheby’s Gallery London, and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York, while also working on films by household names like Martin Scorsese, Sofia Coppola, Wes Anderson, and Quentin Tarantino.
Like a true artist, Lacombe has found her motivation in everyday life, and we think you’ll find her studies of her surroundings just right for this moment, and for years to come.
**We understand that during these trying times not everyone has the privilege to isolate at home. As a way to give back to those less fortunate and in commemoration of our partnership, Brigitte and Absolut Art have donated $5,000 to the Coalition for the Homeless.
